FAQs

What does StaFra mean?

StaFra is a combination of our names -Stacy & Frank. Although most of the training, handling, grooming and all is done myself, my husband Frank is there to help and support me. We both love this breed and are having a lot of fun with our German Shepherds. We look forward to placing our puppies into homes that will enjoy so many adventures with them too!

How did you get into breeding?

I was raised with parents who trained and bred their hunting dogs. – Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. I loved being with our dogs, watching them flourish and become better than the generation before and stay true to type in each litter. I learned what it was like being able to be a part of an ethical working and breeding program. I continued with the same strict rules and testing my parents had. As more testing for dogs has become available, I have added that into my own program.

Over 34 years in dogs, I still own, train and breed with an intentional purpose, with the teachings from my parents in the forefront of my mind and the outline of the GSD breed in my visions.

What makes your breeding program special?

I searched long and hard for the lines I wanted in my dogs and in future generations. I chose my foundation dogs for health, longevity, soundness in body, temperament, type and willingness to work as they are bred for.

All of our dogs at this time are LSH – Long hair German Shepherds. I do not breed any of my dogs until all tests are passed that I require along with DNA- Embark breeder panel, AKC + Health, hips and elbows are x-rayed and graded by SV in Germany or OFA.

Our dogs live with us and all are trained, handled, whelped with us in our home. We are actively training & titling our own dogs.
